2019 Farm Girl Flea – Fall Market Vlog
A little preface about this market. It is put on by FarmGirlFlea. This is their outdoor Fall market held at Hudsonville fairgrounds here in Michigan. I say it’s an outdoor market, but you’ll see in my video that a lot of us vendors are setup inside of the fairground barns. I was unsure of whether I wanted to be indoors in the barn, or outside with my beloved tent. I love the way my setups look with my white tent framing it out, but ultimately decided to try the barns out.
That turned out to be a great choice because it stormed all day long while I
Market Recap
What sold well?
Pom Beanies – I used my Addi and slightly altered my Bon-fire beanie pattern by adding 15-20 rows to make the brim easier to fold over. I also got the fluffiest most gorgeous poms from Sierra of SierrasCraftyCreations.

Bon-fire beanies – Yes my pom-less beanies sold well too! You can check out my Bon-fire beanie
Blanket Scarves – I splurged and bought some higher quality flannel for this market’s blanket scarves and it was so worth it. I got my fabric from Joann’s but there are tons of good fabrics out there! I have a free blanket scarf tutorial you can check out, or if you’re a Debrosse Masterclass student T recently shared a more in-depth tutorial there!
Twist Headbands – At my last market I didn’t sell a single headband, but I also didn’t display them well. At this
What didn’t sell that well?
Pumpkins – At my market the weekend prior to this one, pumpkins were my number one seller. Like seriously sold so many. I have a knitting machine pumpkin tutorial for anyone who wants to check it out. At this market, I sold very few. I think part of it may be the difference in how I displayed them at the first market compared to this one, but also there were a lot of other vendors who were offering a variety of handmade pumpkins. This means that competition for the pumpkin target market was a little saturated.
Crafty Loop Earrings – I 100% blame my display for the lack of earring sales. I used Ashley of A Crafty Concepts free Crafty Loop Earrings Pattern for anyone inquiring. I, unfortunately,
Final Thoughts – 2019 Fall Farm Girl Flea Market
Total success! I cannot wait to apply for this market again next fall and hopefully be able to bring Taylor Lynn Crochet back again for another attempt. The vendors at this market were next level. So many stunning booth spaces that took DAYS to put together. Their hard work showed in their gorgeous put together spaces.
The crowds that came in were amazing and ready to shop handmade. The event was really well advertised and the foot traffic was really good. I am doing another (Christmas) market with Farm Girl Flea at the end of November. It will be in a greenhouse and I heard that one is even spectacular!
I hope you all enjoyed this market vlog, and I hope there will be many more to come! These are lowkey (okay maybe highkey) my favorite videos to produce. I have fun filming them, editing them, and even going back and watching them again! Market season can be the most stressful, but know we are all in it together and there is light at the end of this crazy holiday season tunnel.
If you have any questions about markets, my setup, or anything else leave them in the comment section below. Thank you for hanging out and following along. Until next time babes, XOXO Tay
