Hello, I’m Taylor!
Here is a little about myself! I am in my early 20’s and just starting my own blog about my hobbies (mostly crochet)! I have two precious golden retrievers named Zoey and Isabella (Izzy or Bella for short!). I don’t think I’ve ever finished a project without their fur being permanently embedded and stitched in throughout. I think it just adds more love and character to a finished piece. They are about 10 years old now, and while their bodies may be aging, I assure you that they are young at heart! I’ve added a picture below so you can get your daily dose of cuteness too!
What else do in my free time besides crocheting you might ask? I graduated with a degree in accounting and now work for a family business. I workout almost everyday after work and on weekends. I love the way my workouts make me feel! I admit that I have on occasion, skipped the gym, opting to finish a project or two that night instead, but who hasn’t right?! It’s all about balance and finding what works for you!
Now onto the good stuff, Crochet! I always had this desire to make beautiful things, except I had one problem. I wasn’t all that artistic. I can’t draw very well, I have horrible hand writing, and painting? forget about it. That is how I got into crochet and other yarn/string projects. I was first taught how to crochet by my aunt when I was probably 10 or 11 years old, but as I got older crochet fizzled away. Then one day whilst scrolling through Pinterest I saw the cutest little washcloths for sale and I thought “Hey! I could make that!”. Then came the youtube videos and pattern research! To be honest, my first washcloths were more trapezoids than squares, it takes time to get it all down. Since then I have now conquered projects like blankets, towel toppers, and festival tops! Once you know a few basic stitches, the possibilities are endless!
Why did I start a blog?
I started a blog because when I picked up this wonderful hobby again I felt lost. I would watch videos where they would say, “and now weave in the ends and ill start back again on the next row”, and I was sitting there yelling at the video “But I don’t know how to weave in the ends! Show me!”. That is where the idea of a blog came in. I knew I couldn’t be the only beginner running into these issues. After learning how simple weaving in ends is, it seems silly, but at the time it was overwhelming. I plan on posting things for beginners as well as more intermediate projects and posts. I will break down all the “silly” things that most people gloss over or forget about completely, and give you some projects to work towards!
