Hello Hello and Happy 4th of July! I am so excited to be hanging out with you guys over here on Taylor-Lynn.com! My name is Ashley and I am the mom-boss behind A Crafty Concept. When I first insta-met Taylor nearly a year ago we clicked almost immediately and when she asked me to do a blog collab with her “YES” shot out of my mouth before she even finished her sentence! I love Taylor and I love her blog and I am so honored to be over here today!
Some of the links in this post may be affiliate links, meaning I may receive a small commission, at NO ADDITIONAL cost to you, from purchases made using the links provided.
Taylor is also doing an amazing post on my blog at A Crafty Concept. You’re going to want to check that out after you see this sweet (pun intended) pattern I have designed for you guys!
For today’s take over post I have designed a super fun and summery crochet pattern for y’all. It is a bomb pom themed glass bottle cozy! This pattern is pretty simple for the most part, but the decrease rows can be a little confusing. You may have to reread the rows a few times, but the stitches themselves are not hard. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram or shoot me and email and I will be more than happy to help!
Here’s what you will need to make this super fun Bomb Pop themed Crafty Bottle Cozy.
Materials
I love this cotton in the color Red
I love this cotton in the color Turquoise
I love this cotton in the color White
G crochet hook. I am using a clover brand hook.
Scissors
Tapestry Needle for sewing in loose ends.
Stitch Key (US terms)
CH- Chain
HDC- Half Double Crochet
FPDC- Front Post Double Crochet
*- to be repeated
Special Stitches
Front Post Double Crochet
Yarn over, insert your hook into the body of your row (on the right side of your stitch) and push hook back up though the back (of the left side of your stitch). Yarn over, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two, yarn over, pull through two.

Before you start
When you get to the “decrease” rows, things may look a little confusing. To decrease you will just skip a HDC and go straight into the next FPDC. Then you will have two FPDC next to each other so when you go to do the next row there wont be an exactly repetition to follow. Just play close attention to your stitches in the previous row and make sure you put your FPDC stitches on top of each other. This is explained better in the video.
Crafty Bottle Cozy Pattern
Starting with your turquoise yarn
Ch 28. Join back into the first CH (DO NOT let chain twist) CH 1.
Row 1: HDC around. Join back into your first HDC. CH 1. (28)
Rows 2-7: *HDC, FPDC* 14 times around. Join back into your first HDC. CH 1. (28)
After row 7, switch to white yarn.
Rows 8-14: *HDC, FPDC* 14 times around. Join back into your first HDC. CH 1. (28)
After row 14, switch to red yarn.
Row 15: *HDC, FPDC* 14 times around. Join back into your first HDC. CH 1. (28)
Now we’re going to start the decrease rows. Row 16 is still pretty simple. To decrease you just skip a HDC and go straight into the FPDC in the next stitch.
Row 16: *HDC, FPDC* 4 times. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. *HDC, FPDC* 4 times. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. *HDC, FPDC* 4 times. Join and CH 1. (26)
Row 17 (and 18, 19) gets a little more confusing because our repetition is off now that we have decreased some. I tried to type out each step in the row instructions, but if you get confused just decrease like you did in row 16 two more time, it doesn’t really matter where, as long as they’re spaced out. Remember to put your FPDC on top of each other (from the previous row) and just count your stitches before you go onto the next row. Again, there is a video if you need extra help.
Row 17: *HDC, FPDC* 2 times. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. HDC, FPDC, then FPDC over the next FBDC from row 16. *HDC, FPDC* 4 times, then FPDC over the next FBDC from row 16. HDC, FPDC, skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. *HDC, FPDC* 2 times. Join and CH 1. (24)
Row 18: HDC, FPDC, Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. FPDC over the next FPDC from row 17. HDC, FPDC, FPDC , HDC, FPDC. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. *HDC, FPDC* 2 times. FPDC, HDC, FPDC, FPDC, *HDC, FPDC* 2 times. Join CH 1. (22)
Row 19 has 3 decreases.
Row 19: HDC, FPDC. FPDC. FPDC. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. FPDC. HDC, FPDC. FPDC. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. HDC, FPDC. FPDC. HDC, FPDC. FPDC. Skip the next HDC and FPDC in next stitch. HDC, FPDC. Join and tie off (19).
I hope you guys loved this pattern! Don’t be afraid to switch up the color combos either! I have included a little printable to help you visualize your color combinations when you are deciding on which colors to use. If you make any Crafty Bottle Cozy please be sure to tag me in your pics. I can’t wait to see your finished cozies! Also you are more than welcome to sell your finished Crafty Bottle Cozy’s, I hope they are very popular for you and you sell them like crazy. All I ask is that you credit me for the pattern so other makers can find it too. I truly believe in community over competition, when we all lift and encourage each other, we all succeed.

Hi it’s Katie from @originalhandmadegoodness ! I love this smart and clever bottle cozy!! Perfect for the Fourth of July and really any hot summer day!!
Hi! Barkley here from @baudidesigns There are so many things I lov about the cozy pattern. I love that it fits bottles because I don’t drink many things from a can when I’m having fun in the sun. I also love the ridging on the cozy. Gives it that extra cushion to keep the drink cold!
I love that you use yarn that easily accessible to me. That’s one thing I look for when I go to make a pattern.
Very cute and useful! I live both of you! ??
Hey! Mechelle from @MyLifeInStitchesByMe (insta) and I love this pattern! It looks like it works up so quick and is so cute and summer-y! ?

My favorite thing is that this is a good pattern to make gifts!!! And I love anything made with I Love This Cotton!! It’s my favorite yarn!!! -Mary (@femmecrochet on instagram)
My favorite thing about this pattern is that it’s not the average drink cozy.. it’s for a bottle. You dont see that very often, or maybe at all actually.
this is so cute, Ashley!! I love how you created so much texture using only a few simple stitches! And the addition of the printable to visualize colors is such an awesome idea!! 🙂 It was so sweet of y’all to do this giveaway! My IG is @keepyoucompanycrochet, but emailing me at my personal email (writingsunshine7@gmail.com) might be a better way to get in touch since right now my phone is being repaired and I’m not checking my Instagram as often. 🙂
Cool, I made some for my husband to keep his soda cool with a solid base and a tie at the top for different sizes. Have a great day.
